If a patient has a strong preference for a given lens type, good management indicates that this should be taken into account. If your examination and evaluation of the case concludes that the patient's preference is a viable option it is best to comply with their desires.
Patient compliance has been shown to improve if the patient is involved in the decision as to the type of therapy they will receive. Therefore, discuss the pros and cons of the different modalities with your patient and lead them to the decision as to what lens type is best for them.
